This is a reminder of tonight’s Scott Pilgrim Midnight Release Party!

Scott Pilgrim volume 6 drop tonight at midnight, and you can get it at Chapel Hill Comics. In case you haven’t already heard about this, here’s what’s going on:

HOURS
We will close at 9pm, as per usual, then reopen at 11pm! Scott Pilgrim volume 6 goes on sale at midnight, but feel free to shop around before then! We’ll stay open as long as folks are buying Scott Pilgrim. That might be 12:30am, it might be 1am, it all depends on how many folks show up!

POSTERS
We’ll have free Scott Pilgrim posters to the FIRST SEVEN PEOPLE who show up in Scott Pilgrim-related costumes! We’re expecting way more than 7 people tonight, but how many will dress up? Who knows?

SNACKS
We’ll have snacks! Awesome!

Here’s a public service announcement: This week, due to the holiday on Monday, we will be receiving our new comics on Thursday instead of Wednesday.

NEW 50-CENT COMICS!
However, Wednesday will still be awesome at Chapel Hill Comics, as we will be debuting a new batch of 50-cent comics! We’re not taking away the ones which have been out for the last couple weeks, we’re just adding new ones, so come in this Wednesday for first shot at these cheap comics!

SCOTT PILGRIM AT MIDNIGHT!
And make sure to mark your calendar. We’re been looking forward to the last volume in the Scott Pilgrim series for more than a year now, and it’s coming in a couple of weeks. Not only will we have it, we’ll be hosting a SCOTT PILGRIM MIDNIGHT RELEASE PARTY!

Chapel Hill Comics is proud to announce that we will be hosting a release party for the final Scott Pilgrim volume: SCOTT PILGRIM’S FINEST HOUR! The official release date for this book is Tuesday, July 20. For those of you who want to read it first, we’ll be selling it at midnight!

Monday, July 19, we’ll close our doors at 9pm, as per usual, but we’ll reopen at 11pm. For an hour, we’ll be open with snacks, and then at midnight, Scott Pilgrim volume 6 will go on sale!

We also have a very limited amount of posters which we’ll be giving away. Want to see? Check it out at the bottom of the page! How do you get one? Show up in costume, and show up early! We’ve only got… let’s see, 7 of these posters, and they’ll go to the first 7 folks who show up at Chapel Hill Comics dressed as a Scott Pilgrim character!

Will we also have copies of the first five Scott Pilgrim books?  Of course we will.  Will we have copies of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s previous graphic novel, Lost at Sea?  Yeah, we’ll have some of those too.  We’ll also have all the stuff we normally carry that’s not Scott Pilgrim, so you can just stock up on whatever you need!

We’ll stay open as long as we’re selling stuff.  Big line of people show up for the book?  We’ll stay open!

This Saturday is the first Saturday in May, which means what?  Free Comic Book Day!

We’ll be giving away comics at Chapel Hill Comics from 10am until 6pm.  We’ll still be open regular hours until 9pm, but the FCBD festivities will wind down around 6pm.

What will we be giving away for free?  Lots of stuff!

FREE STUFF #1! Comic publishers create comic books specifically for Free Comic Book Day. Visitors to the store will get to take one each of the comics they like, and we’ll help you choose! There’ll be comics for kids and grownups. You can check out the ones we’ll be giving away right here:

Hey folks,

This is a note to let you know that our Voice Actor Event featuring Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt has been canceled due to illness. Tara has come down with a bronchial infection and they are unable to travel to North Carolina. Our apologies for the cancellation. If you know folks who were planning to come, please spread the word, as we’ve heard from a lot of interested people in the last couple of weeks. We are very proud to announce that Peter Kuper, one of the modern giants of comics and illustration, will be appearing at Chapel Hill Comics on Thursday, March 18, from 7pm until 8:30pm! Check it out:

Peter Kuper Is the co-founder of the political zine World War 3 illustrated and has been drawing Spy vs Spy for Mad magazine since 1997. He has produced over twenty books including The System and an adaptaion of Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. His latest book Diario de Oaxaca is a sketchbook journal of two years he spent in Oaxaca, Mexico. He has just completed illustrating a Spanish language version of Alice in Wonderland. More of his work can be found at www.peterkuper.com
