We had a great time at our Dark Tower midnight release event, with folks showing up from Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Cary, and other places! We had even more folks show than I expected, but I still had time to take a few pictures!

It was cold outside, so folks waited in the lobby to our building. These are the folks who had showed up by 11:15 or so. When we opened the doors at midnight, we handed out free Marvel Comics variant covers to the first 20 people in line! I lost count of the folks who showed, but it was well over 20. These early birds caught the worms!

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, if you’re going to show up at a comic shop at Midnight, in freezing weather, do like Kit Fitzsimons! Dress like a Gunslinger and go, go, go to that comic shop! Not only will you be happy because you are dressed like a cowboy, you may receive a big stack of Marvel Variant covers and several EC Horror and Science Fiction reprints! (Stephen King and Gorge Romero’s Creepshow was inspired by these EC Comics, so we thought it would be fitting!) Kit was also the grand prize winner in our Silent Hill Poster Contest last year. This man knows how to participate!

Here’s a peek at Dark Tower on the racks. We still have plenty of copies available, so come one come all!

This is great science fiction manga. If you like violent, super-detailed science fiction comics, check this out! I can pretty well guarantee that someone will get blown up in this volume, and it’ll be really cool looking, and then you’ll go, “Oh man, I can’t believe I thought that was really cool looking because it’s so horrific!” It’s got a good story, too. Well, it’s not bad yet, but snow and ice have started coming down in the woods where Vanessa and I live, so we’re not going to come in today.  If the weather gets bad enough that UNC cancels its classes, one of our stalwart student employees will open the store for your shopping enjoyment.
