This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, but this Wednesday is still New Comics Day!
Okay, first of all, here’s some stuff that we got last week which we missed reporting because it came though other channels:
DEATH NOTE VOLUME 11 $7.99
This is a great series. Basically, it’s about a guy who gets his hands on a notebook in which he can wtire people’s names, and they’ll die! It wraps up with the next volume, and I’m dying to see what happens! Get it? Dying? Oh, never mind. Anyway, it’s really entertaining.
KING CAT CLASSIX HARDCOVER $29.95
A nice hardcover collection of John Porcellino’s mini comics!
THE SALON $19.95
This is a really entertaining book starring Pablo Picasso, Gertrude Stein, and other historical luminaries in a crazy supernatural mystery! It’s great!
UGLYDOLLS AND UGLYDOLL T-SHIRTS
We received a huge shipment of Uglydolls and Uglydoll shirts last week. WE may have more in stock now than we ever have in the past. They’ve discontinued their t-shirt line, though, so come get them while they last!

Chapel Hill Comics
So here’s what we’re getting Wednesday, April 11! Actually, First, I’ll list some titles that we received through the week of April 2-6, which were not on our list last week!
ALREADY HERE:
DON’T GO WHERE I CAN’T FOLLOW
I’m going to start this one tonight. The internet sure loves this book. I believe it’s nonfiction about the tragic death of the author’s friend. Anders Nilsen definitely does nice stuff, so I’m looking forward to it, in a sad kind of way.
OPTIC NERVE #11
Adrian Tomine’s comic series is coming out on a maybe sort-of regular basis again! If you love Optic Nerve, you’ll love Optic Nerve 11!
THE PROFESSOR’S DAUGHTER
This was really fun. It’s by Joann Sfar and Emmanuel Gilbert, and features a love story between the eponymous character and a mummy! I recognized some of the characters in this book from Vampire Loves, which is also super-cool!
TINY TYRANT
I haven’t had a chance to check this one out, yet. It’s comedy about a spoiled brat prince, it looks like. It has appealing, cartoony art.

ALL STAR SUPERMAN VOL 1 HC $19.99
The best superman comic since Alan Moore wrote “For the Man Who has Everything” in the eighties! This is crazy, weird golden-age Superman stuff, transplanted to the modern day. Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely have been knocking it out of the park with this one!

Oh my gosh I love Peanuts. When the first volume of these hardcovers came out, it reminded me of all the comic strips I had drawn as a kid, which I completely ripped off from Peanuts. I still think they’re great!

DRAGON HEAD VOL 6 GN (OF 10) (MR) (C: 1-0-0) $9.99
A horror comic about some high school kids who get trapped in a train in a tunnel during a earthquake… but it gets so much weirder from there. I’ve been jonesing for this book for a few months now. If you’re a fan of horror, definitely check these out!
FERRO CITY VOL 1 TP $15.99
This collects the Image series which featured a couple of cops: a human, and a robot with, like a transistor tube for a head. Really cool science fiction noir stuff, with really nice, flowing art.
