We have just learned that in honor of what would have been Mister Rogers’ 80th Birthday, Family Communications, Inc., the nonprofit organization founded by Fred Rogers, is asking everyone to wear their favorite sweater on Thursday, March 20th! We’re big fans of Mister Rogers and want to encourage folks participate. If you wear your favorite sweater by Chapel Hill Comics on March 20th, between 10am and 5pm, we’ll give you a treat!

It’s time once again for the Independent Weekly’s Best of the Triangle Awards! We were very happy to win the very first award for Best Comic Book Store last year, and would love to take the prize for a second year in a row!

Here’s how you can help: Go to the Independent Weekly’s website and fill out the poll! If you feel we’re the best comic book store in the triangle, please include us in that category! There are 161 questions, but you only have to answer 26, which should be easy, as there are tons of great places in the triangle to support with your votes. The Best Comic Book store category is in the second section of the survey, Goods and Services. It’s sixth in line between Best Local Book Store and Best Thrift Shop!

Chapel Hill Comics is proud to be a participant in the Midnight release of Stephen King’s Dark Tower: The Long Road Home!

We’ll be reopening our doors at 11:30 pm, and will stay open at least until 12:30 am. We’ll stay open longer if we’re crowded, but to be sure you get a copy Tuesday Night, be there by 12:30!

We’ll also have a drawing, which will be open only to those folks who show up for the midnight event! We’re going to give away the following prizes:

• One copy of Dark Tower: The Long Road Home #1 Deodato variant!
• One copy of Locke and Key #1 signed by writer Joe Hill (who is, of course, Stephen King’s son)!
