That’s right: Katherine and Will will be appearing in Chapel Hill Comics at 2pm on Saturday, May 9 to perform childrens’ music!

It’s once again time for Free Comic Book Day! This year it’s Saturday, May 2!

Don’t know how Free Comic Book Day works? It’s a national event where you go to a participating store and get free comics! We’ll be giving away 27 different titles. It starts at 10am on Saturday, May 2, and will last all day, though we usually start getting low on titles around 6pm.

We have ordered more comics than ever before for the event this year, but we also have more customers than we’ve ever had before, so coming early is recommended to insure we still have the titles you want!

Chapel Hill Comics is proud to once again be an official participant in Free Comic Book Day! This year, Free Comic Book Day falls on Saturday, May 2.  What do you have to do to get free comics?  Simple!  Just come to Chapel Hill Comics, and we’ll give you some!

At Chapel Hill Comics we’ll have free comics for all ages, from young kids on up to grownups, and we’ll have helpful and freindly staff members on hand to help you choose which comics are right for you!  There’s no limit to the amount of titles you can take, though we do limit each person to one copy of each comic, and we will limit comics for grownups to folks who are actually 18 years of age or older.

BIRD HURDLER
Interested in something outside the norm for Free Comic Book Day? Bird Hurdler is a free comic co-published by several small publishers: Tugboat Press, Teenage Dinosaur, and Spark Plug. We just got these in the mail today, and they’re very cool. This is not an official Free Comic Book Day release, but we’ll be giving them away free! Fans of indie comics will be amazed at the talent within: Farel Dalrymple, Lisa Eisenberg, Julia Gfrörer, Theo Ellsworth, Zack Soto, & Andrice Arp!

We’ll also be giving away these comics for grownups, which normally retail at a dollar each.  They’re all part of DC’s AFTER WATCHMEN line, which reprint the first issues of other fantastic comics that fans of Watchmen might enjoy: Planetary, Preacher, Swamp Thing, and Transmetropolitan.  These are all series which we keep in our best-selling authors section, and we highly recommend them all!
