Chapel Hill Comics is excited to announce another huge signing: Brandon Graham will be in the house on Saturday, October 27 from 5-7pm!

We’ll be the last stop on a four-city nationwide tour for Brandon’s MULTIPLE WARHEADS LAUNCH TOUR! He’ll be rocketing from Anaheim, to Austin, to St. Louis, to Chapel Hill, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We’ll have an exclusive Tour Cover to Multiple Warheads: Alphabet to Infinity #1 as well as the regular cover, plus copies of Brandon’s Prophet and King City collections! Come by, meet the creator, pick up some books, and get them signed!

MULTIPLE WARHEADS: ALPHABET TO INFINITY #1: Sexica and her Werewolf boyfriend Nikoli travel across a sci-fi, fantasy Russia smoking singing cigarettes. Meanwhile the organ hunter Nura is sent out with a severed head and instructions to find its body. This is an all-new Multiple Warheads comic! There was one issue of Multiple Warheads published years ago by Oni Press, which is way out of print. We sold a lot of them locally, so hopefully some of you folks will bring them by to get them signed in addition to picking up the new comic! And look at our bear logo on the wraparound exclusive cover! WOW

KING CITY TPB: No lie, this is in shop owner Andrew Neal’s top two or three comics of the last five years. King City’s main character is a martial arts expert whose weapon is a cat. It’s similar to Scott Pilgrim in the way that it walks a very precarious line between being a serious story and being a joke. The backgrounds are jammed with puns, and Graham’s graffiti- and manga-inspired art is full of life. This book is 400 pages, oversized, and twenty bucks. It’s a great value.

PROPHET TPB: This is the first collection of Prophet comics, written by Brandon, featuring art by Simon Roy, Farel Dalrymple, Brandon, and Giannis Milogiannis. Prophet is a science fiction adventure set in the far future. This isn’t hard sci-fi with technology which might exist in a few years; it’s pulp sci-fi with crazy creature designs, weird biotechnology, and lots of monster meat (hey, Prophet’s gotta eat)! It skews a little more serious than King City and Multiple Warheads, but it’s just as imaginative and exciting. In addition to the paperback, we’ll have some of the comic issues of Prophet as well!

Just arrived: ESCALATOR: We just turned up a stash of the long-unavailable Escalator, published in 2004! It’s full of short stories, including an early Multiple Warheads story!

Just arrived: MEATHAUS SOS: We just received a reorder of Meathaus SOS, the comic anthology co-edited by Brandon Graham! He has some illustrations in here too, and while the whole book isn’t by him, we feel pretty confident that if you like his stuff, you’ll like all the comics in this book!
