Folks seem to like knowing what we sell well, so here’s a list of our top ten selling books of 2013!

1. A WRINKLE IN TIME : Hope Larson’s adaptation of the Madeleine L’Engle book was our champ this year. We hosted Hope for our biggest signing ever in October, and sales kept up all year thanks to fantastic reviews. It’s really good!

2. KING CITY : Here’s another book for which we had a signing. Writer and artist Brandon Graham rolled through at the end of October and signed and sketched stuff for folks, but we had already sold a bunch of these guys thanks to the tireless efforts of the boss, who never shuts up about it (it’s about a martial arts master whose weapon is his cat, and it’s 400 pages for twenty bucks [there he goes again]).

3. DARTH VADER AND SON : This one, featuring funny drawings of Darth Vader & Lil’ Luke by Jeffrey Brown, just sold itself.

4. HARK A VAGRANT : Our second-best-selling book last year hits the top ten again. What can I say? You got Marvel stores, DC stores, and then we’re a Kate Beaton store!

5. AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER: THE PROMISE PART 1 : Children and tumblr enthusiasts converged on the store to purchase these books with the continuing adventures of a bald guy and some kind of yak (sorry, I don’t watch much TV)!

6. SAGA VOL 01 : Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples are making great comics, and they’re selling fantastically well. Do you like outer space hipster parents? We do too, and so does everyone else!

7. PROPHET VOL 01: REMISSION : Another book written by our pal Brandon Graham (as mentioned above in the King City entry). Pulpy outer space monster fights and more, with great art by Simon Roy, Farel Dalrymple, Giannis Milogiannis, and Brandon!

8. AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER: LOST ADVENTURES TP : More Avatar, y’all! This is the first book they released, which collects a bunch of short stories from Nickelodeon magazine.

9. WALKING DEAD VOL 01: DAYS GONE BYE : I guess the most popular cable TV show of all time works pretty well as an advertisement for the comic!

There you go!
